People who use drugs

People who use drugs may be socially isolated and economically disadvantaged due to circumstances such as mental illness or unstable housing. Contact tracing among this population can be hampered by the communities’ desire to remain anonymous, and a lack of willingness to engage with mainstream services due to the stigma and discrimination often experienced. When considering contact tracing for people who use drugs, discuss the options available for partner notification, and work with the individual on their preferred notification method.
